Master of Accountancy
The Master of Accountancy consists of a graduate level core accounting courses required and approved by the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy so that students will have the coursework to qualify for candidacy to take the CPA examination.
Admission Requirements
- Online application for admission into a graduate degree program
- Official transcript from an accredited institution demonstrating completion of a four-year Bachelor's degree (or equivalent in the case of an international institution) and official transcripts from all colleges or universities attended
- One-page Statement of Purpose
- Resume
- Two letters of reference from professional and/or academic sources
- Official GMAT (or GRE) score (optional)

Applicants from countries where English is not the first language are required to demonstrate English proficiency. Please consult the graduate school website for required scores.
Specific Requirements for the Master of Accountancy Degree:
All students must meet the Pre-Master of Accountancy (Pre-MAcc) Requirements and complete thirty hours of Course of Study for the Master of Accountancy (MAcc).
Courses in Pre-MAcc Requirements as described below can be waived if according to the Accounting Graduate Studies Committee, the student has the equivalent courses in previous undergraduate or graduate coursework or the appropriate work experience. Waivers can also be given if the student demonstrated proficiency through challenge examinations approved by the Committee.
