M.A. in English Studies

Admission Requirements

  1. A bachelor's degree from an accredited U.S. institution or proof of equivalent education in a foreign institution.
  2. Fifteen (15) credits of advanced-level English and/or evidence of adequate preparation for graduate coursework in English Studies.
  3. 3.0 GPA or higher
  4. A writing sample.
  5. A statement of purpose.
  6. Three letters of recommendation.
  7. Optional: a resume or other supporting materials to give a full picture of the applicant's potential.
  8. Applicants whose degrees are from non-English speaking institutions are required to demonstrate English proficiency. Please consult the Graduate School website for required scores.
