Global Humanities

The Global Humanities Program consists of three academic concentrations that are inherently interdisciplinary. Each concentration draws upon a wide range of subjects like philosophy, literature, art, history, and religion in the study of diverse cultural expressions. Global Humanities examines how societies respond to challenges, using both historical and contemporary analysis to understand the human condition in a fragmented world. Students are encouraged to critically analyze information and to question established theories, seeking to gain a deeper understanding of the world and its complex social and political dynamics. Each of the classes in the Global Humanities Program fulfills the upper division Humanities electives for all students and the upper division Humanities block for all students in the College of Liberal Arts.

The Global Humanities Program Supports:

  • The Humanities Program with a Minor in Humanities
  • The Religious Studies Program with a Minor in Religious Studies
  • Jewish Studies Courses
