210 Physical Science Building
The Department offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics. The BS includes the opportunity to obtain concentrations in Applied Physics Concentration, Atmospheric Physics Concentration, Medical Physics Concentration, Pre-Med Concentration, and Secondary Teaching 7-12 Physical Science Certification. Before a student can choose the Secondary Education Concentration, they must meet three criteria: 1) overall UTEP GPA of at least 2.75, 2) UTEP majors GPA of at least 2.75, 3) pass the UTEP Physical Science Qualifying Exam with a score of at least 80%.
Five Year Bachelor of Science-Master of Science Program
The Department of Physics provides an opportunity for qualified students to participate in a five-year bachelor/master of science degree program. The program is limited to students who maintain at least a 3.0 GPA. Freshmen honors students should consult with the departmental undergraduate advisor about the details of this program including course selection and admission to the Graduate School.
