Modern and Contemporary Art Theory (3-0) A seminar which reviews art theory from Kant to Baudrillard, issues such as art-for-art's sake, Marxism, phenomenology, interpretation, deconstruction, multiculturalism, and hyperreality will be discussed.

ARTH 5390. Directed Study.

Directed Study (3-0) This course will enable students to work on an independent research project under the guidance and supervision of an art history faculty member. Meeting times to be determined by the student and instructor. Students will complete a substantial research paper on an approved topic.
