Survey of Music Theory (3-0) Theory of the common practice period in western music. Includes figured bass realization, aural skills, harmonic analysis, common-practice forms, and 20th-century techniques. Will not count for Master of Music Degree. Prerequisite: Graduate Music Theory Placement Exam.

Study of the application of music theory terminology and concepts in the analysis of works from the music literature, and of how this analysis informs performance and interpretation of these works.
