Introduction

The College of Business Administration at The University of Texas at El Paso shares with the University its fundamental mission to provide the highest quality education to the residents of El Paso, west Texas, southern New Mexico and northern Mexico, commensurate with Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International standards for business education. The border location of the University and the expertise developed by the faculty provide an environment that affords opportunities for students to become knowledgeable in cross-border commerce as well as international business.

The College is committed to providing the widest possible access to quality higher education to allow our students to become competitive on local, regional, national, and international levels. Therefore, the goal of the College is to provide:

  • Broad-based programs that give students the background necessary for entry into and advancement in professional and managerial positions; for life-long learning; for career success; and for responsible stewardship of our cultural, economic, and environmental resources.
  • Intellectual contributions that extend the boundaries of knowledge; improve application of existing knowledge to regional, national, and international environments; and enhance the transfer of knowledge to students.
  • Service that contributes to the personal and professional betterment of our students, the University, alumni, community, and academia.

Our quality is reflected in the success of our students, alumni, and faculty and in the enhancement of the personal and professional lives of community residents.

The College offers the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree and the Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Economics for undergraduate students. The BBA, the Master Business Administratio(MBA), the Master of Accountancy (MACC), the Master of Science in Economics (MSEcon) and the Ph.D/ in Business Administration are all accredited by AACSB International. The UTEP College of Business Administration is proud to have earned AACSB Accreditation. Less than 5 percent of business schools world-wide have earned this prestigious designation from AACSB International—The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business-which provides global leadership in advancing management education. The College also offers business minors in general business, accounting, computer information systems, economics, finance, management, marketing and operations andsupply chain management.

The College of Business Administration supports academic and professional programs designed to promote and advance regional economic development and transfer proven business principles and practices to entrepreneurial ventures.

Our faculty hold doctoral degrees from top institutions worldwide. They bring to the classroom a global perspective and conduct research with relevancy to the global marketplace. They’ve created a dynamic environment composed of a diverse faculty and doctoral students, situated in the heart of a thriving international border affording unique learning and research opportunities.
